Hi parents! Congratulations on getting to the end of the school year –– we’re almost there! June is a wonderful month that should be filled with family pride. After nine months, you’ve helped your child along with one more year of school –– one more year under the belt toward the joys of high school, college and beyond!
That being said, some concerns may also be at the top of your mind as the school year wraps up. Maybe your child missed a couple things in math. Maybe they had a difficult time with reading and writing, and you’re concerned about what their performance may be at the start of the next school year. Or maybe you just want to ensure that the infamous ‘summer slip’ doesn’t become an issue once they venture off to their new fall curricula.
I would love to help. Over the past month, I have been creating our summer curriculum with a focus on customization with an aim to maintain the spirit, fun, and lightness of the summer. Individual curriculums will be tailored to your student’s academic goals. Whether that means some lighthearted maintenance of math and writing skills, or some more involved goals, like creating an understanding of a topic missed during the school year.
Each child is different. Some students will be focusing on (4) and (5), while other students may want to focus on (3), (1), or (4). This is the central benefit of one-on-one, customized curriculums. Through a primary evaluative lesson with your student and ongoing curriculum development, we will set out goals at the beginning of the summer to be completed in the month of August before the coming school year.
